Before creating your cards, it’s important to know how they are made and what parts they have. This helps you choose the right options and follow the rules. Contact your account representative to learn more about custom card prices and choose from the available options.

How to create custom cards

The table displays the sequence of steps that must be followed to produce a card from the design file to the final product, providing a clear understanding of what will occur at each stage of the process.

1: Design1 weekSimply upload your artwork onto the card design template, choose the features you want, and wait for Allawee to review it and provide feedback as needed.
2: Proofing2 weeksBefore completing your order, the card printer creates a proof that includes the card artwork, colors, quantity, and material details, which you must approve. At the same time, the printer sends the card artwork to Verve or MasterCard to ensure it complies with the necessary standards.
3: Manufacturing6+ weeksThe cards are made using special machines at the printer by printing the artwork on plastic, assembling the card layers, and laminating with a finish before cutting them into individual cards. However, the supply challenges with materials have resulted in longer lead times for card production.
4: Testing2 weeksAfter manufacturing the cards, they are sent to the personalization site where they undergo testing to ensure that they work properly and are set up correctly before being shipped out.
5: Go live2 business days after testing completesOnce the cards are activated in your Allawee account, they are ready to be issued.
6: PersonalizationDepends on shipping speedThe cards are customized to the cardholder with their name, card number, expiry date, and CVV. Then, the cards are shipped using the chosen method.
